Position Background and Description

The Front Porch Center for Technology Innovation and Wellbeing (FPCTIW) explores the innovative uses of technology to empower individuals to live well, especially in their later years. FPCTIW works collaboratively with all stakeholders and in partnership with funding sources, researchers and technology partners. The MeHCA Computer Instructor will provide basic computer literacy training to seniors for the Model eHealth Community for Aging (MeHCA) project, and will report to the FPCTIW director.

The Model eHealth Community for Aging project (MeHCA) focuses on deploying health-related, technology-based activities for a diverse population of senior and disabled residents of the Los Angeles Koreatown neighborhood. In support of one component of this project, the volunteer will provide basic computer/Internet training and health education to seniors and other adults at an affordable housing community.
