Job Duties Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Effectively and efficiently using time to complete audit assignments, prepare documentation, and advise audit management of status of audit assignments. Documentation requires using data analytical skills, such as flowcharting and Excel, and use of various GEICO business applications such as PeopleSoft.
- Developing and executing auditing project plan schedules to review, analyze and evaluate policies, procedures, guidelines, and controls for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assessing areas of risk, evaluating their significance and developing and recommending appropriate changes and control improvements to business units as necessary.
- Developing adequate documentation for audit work papers, exceptions, process changes and recommendations.
- Maintaining an effective, professional, and independent working relationship with business unit management and staff.
- The Internal Audit Department supports associates in the pursuit of professional certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Candidate Qualifications A strong candidate will have an attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, an analytical mentality and be a team player. A college degree is preferred and knowledge of IT operations is helpful.

Successful candidates should have previous experience where an excellent work ethic, and being a self-starter were keys to success. Understanding of auditing, testing, internal controls, security and regulatory compliance is a plus, as is any previous IT experience.
