DescriptionJob Duties Responsibilities GEICO seeks a driven and skilled Information Systems Analyst to join the Research Department of our Pricing and Product Management department in the Washington, D.C. metro area. This analytical and computer savvy team supports GEICO's Actuarial Pricing and Product Management department and are a vital part of developing and executing initiatives that significantly impact our business!
Analysts on this team work with very large data sets to determine fair and competitive rates while looking for new opportunities in the property and casualty insurance marketplace. The work of the Research Section is important to the success of GEICO and executive management relies heavily on this function to make corporate decisions. Candidate Qualifications As an Information Systems Analyst you will: - Gather requirements from departmental users needed to develop and maintain departmental SAS programs and reports - Communicate departmental system and data requirements to corporate IT departments - Work with corporate IT departments to identify and resolve system and data irregularities - Develop increased understanding of actuarial and product management analyses relevant to property and casualty actuarial methods as well as the GEICO product - Develop sophisticated SAS programming awareness needed to implement actuarial mathematical and statistical models - Gather analysis data from many internal and external data sources - Research, propose and manage vendor relationships as they relate to the Pricing and Product Management department - Recommend improvements to current systems, applications and processes - Collaborate with team members to set business objectives and goals Qualified candidates should have a working knowledge of the SAS language, have a BS in Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline as well as possess superior quantitative, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
