DescriptionJob Duties Responsibilities Are you analytical and good with computers? We are seeking a highly motivated analyst to join our Underwriting Research and Development division.

As an Analyst in Underwriting Research and Development you will help GEICO address long and short term business issues by combining your technical skills with quantitative analysis and creative problem solving. In addition to owning each of your projects, you will work with the team to set business objectives, build on previous analyses, and collaborate on innovative projects. Both your ability to manage projects autonomously and efficiently along with your unique, analytical perspective will be essential in generating positive change for the company. GEICO has millions of policyholders and billions of rows of transactional data so the analytical opportunities are unlimited and the business impacts are significant. This position provides many opportunities to interact across departments and with senior management in different divisions of the company, providing you with a solid background to take on new challenges within different areas of the company such as Pricing Product Management, the Internet Business Unit, or Marketing if you so please. Your responsibilities may include: * Developing models to predict impacts of pricing and product changes * Retrieving data from various sources to conduct innovative business analyses for various companywide projects * Maintaining our acquisition and renewal systems * Working in teams with associates from other departments across the company * Analyzing and interpreting performance reports used by management in making bottom-line decisions * Developing and presenting proposals to departmental, regional, and executive management Candidate Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, economics or a related field * Must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA * Understanding of business practices * Very good analytical and problem-solving skills * Effective written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated leadership ability * Very good attention to detail and drive to provide high quality results * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) * SAS, SQL, or other relevant programming experience a plus * High level of dependability * Permanent U.S. work authorization Salary Information $45,000 - $65,000 How To Apply Please click Apply Now to complete your application; you will need an active email address and phone number.
