Job Duties Responsibilities The Network Operations Center is seeking a highly motivated individual with an inclination for problem solving and customer service to join the team as a NOC engineer. Network Operations Center monitors, facilitates and trouble shoots server network components that affect business transactions in a 24x7x365 environment. The team works closely with other IT departments and regional users to resolve production systems incidents/outages validate and trouble shoot alerts from an enterprise management console that interfaces with Windows, LINUX, UNIX, z/OS platforms.

The NOC Engineer's primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide Tier 2 support to Major Incidents from monitoring/alerting systems end-users.
- Facilitate, direct and act as liaison for various IT groups during and unto resolution of an incident/outage call.
- Monitors enacts restoration procedures following documented processes.
- Performs diagnostics to remediate detected/reported network or application incidents.
- Documents alerts process for use by analysts within the Network Operations Center.
- Respond to all incident-related emails in a manner that is appropriate to the audience.
- Attend problem review meeting and provide updates to the meeting regarding reviewed incidents. Candidate Qualifications Qualifications:
- 1+ years of previous IT experience in a Network Operations Center, Help Desk, Operations, LAN/Desktop, Application Production Support, or similar environment.
- Working knowledge of general TCP/IP networking security devices.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: UNIX, Oracle, Db2, Mainframe software, GEICO core applications, Network, Windows.
- Strong telephone etiquette and the ability to deal effectively with end users, peers, and management under stressful conditions.
- Excellent verbal written communication customer interface skills are required.
- Ability to comprehend and follow documented guidelines procedures.
- Proven analytical problem-solving skills the ability to organize and prioritize several tasks at one time.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.

This is a shift-based position. Individuals must be prepared to work on a shift that may include night, weekend, holiday work.
