The Allston Landing Operational Excellence department serves as a Center of Excellence in the following areas:
· Problem solving and continuous improvement
· Process analysis and characterizations
· Metric and KPI development and management
· Strategy and policy generation and deployment

The Operational Excellence department utilizes Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies to coach and facilitate cross functional teams and to manage improvement projects throughout the facility including shop floor, business, and governance processes and systems.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of complex tasks under general guidance and in accordance with current GMP's.

Specific Responsibilities include:
· Identifying resources required to successfully execute improvement projects, guide the team in executing improvement activities, and communicate teams' progress to stakeholders.
· Leading Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Analysis, and other problem solving and improvement workshops
· Educating and coaching others on process improvement philosophy and application
· Participating in efforts to implement ongoing process management mechanisms (process mapping, documentation, metrics, monitoring systems and process control techniques)

Effectively demonstrates an understanding of GMPs how it applies to specific responsibilities:
· Following accurate oral written procedures in performing QA tasks
· Staying up-to-date on training of all procedures
· Adhering to Genzyme's safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or other related technical field and 5 years experience with Process Improvement methodology
· or
· Master's Degree and no experience
· MS Office
· Experienced leading Problem Solving and Process Improvement teams

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experienced leading 5S, Problem Solving, Kaizen Improvement, Value Stream Analysis, and other team-based workshops
· Strong analytical skills
· Strong Facilitation and Coaching Skills
· Team leadership and change management skills
· Practical understanding of principles of project management and team facilitation
