Job Title: MES Solution Architect

Organizational context
The MQO MES team provides leadership for MES implementations and projects throughout the manufacturing organization and interfaces with IT, Quality Business Solution groups and infrastructure.
Oversees, facilitates and supports MES operations at Corp. Operations Manufacturing sites.
Understands / identifies demands and responds on opportunities

Department Description:
This role works closely with the Corp. Operations Manufacturing Sites to provide guidance and identify, document and deliver solutions to business and systems requirements related to the MES system and component infrastructure. The role will be actively involved in reviewing all proposed MES customizations, upgrades to existing installations and new project installation.

Core activities / Areas of result

• Provides in-depth subject matter expertise in MES (MBR and eBR) business processes and the MES system ( system architecture and modules)
• Provides subject matter expertise in a typical GMP environment to support business processes and systems in Manufacturing and Quality like MES, OSI PI (Historian), Delta V, SCADA (ifix, RockWell, etc), and their integration and interrelation.
• Provides best in class documented guidance for MES system management towards Corp. Operations Manufacturing sites:
  • Configuration Management
  • Performance Management
  • Change Management/Risk Management
  • Release Management
  • System Architecture.
• Understands systems interfacing and integrations technologies and processes
• Manages and provides business and systems analysis and for the MES Business Services Suite:

o Ensures that the vision as defined by the business process and system owners is appropriately implemented by the project / technology team.
o Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of the MES business processes and functions being supported.
o Develops MES system roadmaps encompassing current core model and future Automation/IT products and services
o Ensures system consistency and compatibility across the MES installations business processes, multiple projects and systems where appropriate.

• Coordinates the design, development and testing of systems modifications to ensure compliance with business requirements, MQO MES / local policies and procedures.
• Coordinate diverse interrelated system development project timelines
• Provides support to the Tier 3 (MES) support team for severe issues.

Project management
Manages MES Change Management Impact Analysis and sees to it that major projects are implemented accordingly.

Quality
Provide documented Guidance and manages the implementation and maintenance of adequate quality management standards and systems related to MES Systems in order to improve and consolidate 'best in class' performances.

Finance
Ensures the financial reporting on budgets, key performance indicators for the MQO according to corporate policies in order to have an ongoing insight on the financial effects of the Change Management Project Activities.

Risk Assessment

• Guides the successful completion of MES related Change Management projects, in a Solution Architect and project manager role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major business objectives.

Key Performance indicators

• Effective improvements in site systems performance and delivery to customers
• Effective (on-time, on-spec, on-budget) and customer satisfaction project completion measurable in the Project Close out Form
• Effective improvements to business processes or systems measurable in cost savings or cost effectiveness of provided solutions

Skills Knowledge

• Demonstrates understanding of systems and architecture related to MES and the automation layer in a GMP environment
• Demonstrates experience implementing MES systems in a GMP environment
• Demonstrates ability to effectively manage all aspects of IT projects

Qualifications
BS/MS degree in Engineering, Science or Information Technology
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of MES Solution Architect relevant experience to include:
Business process and system (architect) knowledge related to MES and Automation, managing MES related projects under time constraints and high impact risks, complex GMP environments

Domestic and International Travel required

Preferred Qualifications:
Lean and Six Sigma principles and the ability to deploy
MBA
