Responsibilities/Department Description:
The Biologics Discovery group is seeking a research associate to join a dynamic, motivated team of scientists dedicated to the rapid expression, purification and characterization of recombinant proteins and antibodies for discovery research. The successful candidate will be responsible for expression of proteins in a variety of systems (mammalian, baculovirus, and E. coli) and purification of the resultant proteins using. Work will also involve recombinant DNA techniques and protein characterization assays. The successful candidate will be expected to present data in well organized written and oral formats and to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
B.S degree in a life science discipline and 2-4 years of relevant experience in biological research OR MS degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience in biological research. Past lab experience should include hands on experience in AKTA operation, purification of antibodies and recombinant proteins, expression of recombinant proteins using mammalian, insect and bacterial cells, protein characterization assays such as BCA, SDS-PAGE, western blotting.

Preferred qualifications:
Background in protein biochemistry or chemical engineering
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills
Ability to cooperate with others in a team environment
