Description
Genzyme seeks a motivated individual with a strong work ethic to participate in the discovery and development of Gene Therapies for Ocular and CNS diseases. Specifically the person will be involved in the design, evaluation and optimization of gene transfer vectors to support existing and future gene therapy programs. In addition the individual will also be responsible for processing and analyzing all research data generated. As an important contributor in the Gene Therapy Department, the individual will need to be comfortable working in a team environment and making presentations to the Scientific Staff.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience or Master's degree and 3-6 years. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience in the following laboratory techniques is an advantage: Western blotting, Southern blotting, TaqMan analysis, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), plasmid preps, and transfection of cells in culture.
