Job Title: Head, Strategy and Business Development- Rare Diseases

Responsibilities
•Oversee company's Rare Disease long-term strategy; develop and convey longer-term perspective of trends likely to affect industry, sector and company
•Originate and lead strategic initiatives and internal projects related to key corporate choices and opportunities
•Serve as strategic advisor to the Rare Disease leadership team
•Screen, evaluate and prioritize external opportunities for collaborations, in-licensing, structured transactions and acquisitions (MA)
•Oversee and coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts on all Rare Disease transactions
•Develop business cases and lead or direct valuation and financial modeling analyses
•Lead deal negotiations including term sheet and contract development
•Develop and maintain relationships with management teams of potential partner organization, bankers, venture capitalists, and consultants
•Lead out-licensing projects
•Present at conferences and to Genzyme and Sanofi Executive Management teams
•Support the company's mission and vision, continually reinforcing opportunities to build value

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

•MBA, MD or science PhD required
•10+ years of directly relevant business experience required
•Demonstrated ability to work in a complex matrix and cross-cultural environment
•Demonstrated track record of successfully leading negotiations
•Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing teams

Preferred Qualifications
•Multi-country or multi-functional experience desirable
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally 20-30%
•Superb strategist who a proven track record of originating new initiatives
•Result-oriented with highly developed analytical and organizational skills
•Extensive financial expertise
•Strong judgment and decision-making skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills
