Senior Director Global Market Research Competitive Intelligence Multiple Sclerosis

Description of the position

The Senior Director, Global Market Research (MR) Competitive Intelligence (CI) reports to the Head of Global Commercial Strategy, MS.

The Senior Director, Global Market Research CI, will be responsible for supporting the market research and CI needs of the MS franchise. The Senior Director Global Market Research MS will collaborate with the regional marketing teams, brand teams, medical affairs, advocacy, market access, and communications to lead the development and execution of yearly Global market research plans Global CI program. The position will ensure wide dissemination of and communicate market research study results to the expanded MS team. This global position will also have responsibility for leading Competitive Intelligence activities (i.e. alerts on competitor's activities/threats) thus helping the organization develop appropriate strategies and make rapid informed business-decisions;

The Senior Director, Global Market Research CI is based in Cambridge, MA unless otherwise agreed to by the Head of the MS Franchise

Missions and objectives
  • Create strategy and execute plans to provide information to the MS franchise that is relevant, timely and actionable.
  • Responsible for defining appropriate methodology for Market Research projects, reviewing discussion guides and screening criteria.
  • Ensure best-in-class design, execution communication of the results of the MR survey
  • Provide significant brand planning assistance. Regular contributor to setting commercial and brand strategy, making actionable recommendations grounded in the data collected via market research.
  • Support forecasting and market analytics efforts with primary and secondary market research.
  • Directs multiple highly complex projects and priorities requiring strategic analysis and planning.
  • Utilizes pharmaceutical data sources and other industry information to provide product support.
  • Responsible for selecting, reviewing, recommending primary and secondary market research agencies.
  • Coordinate Brand Competition sales performances in key countries.
  • Provide market competition analysis to key stakeholders.
  • Coordination and best practices sharing across affiliates.
  • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Excellent in strategic analysis and planning with the ability to work with and manage demands and expectations from multiple internal customers.
  • Management of 2-3 direct reports. Manage closely work with a team of affiliate MR Managers


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

· >10 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, including at least 7 years of Market Research and strategic analysis experience; 5+ years management experience.

Skills and Experience Strongly Preferred Include:

· Excellent communication skills with a well-developed ability to efficiently and productively communicate both verbally and in writing.
· Strong leadership and communication
· Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities including budgeting and actual spend against budget is required.
· In-depth experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS, Synovate, Verispan, SDI ) is required.
· Must possess extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary market research.
· Ensure that all market research activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
