* Design, implement and launch highly-visible, user-facing features.
* Develop new ways for YouTube users to find interesting content.
* Design and develop large scale web applications using Python as well as JavaScript, CSS and HTML templates.
* Design, develop, and enhance infrastructure primarily using Python as an object-oriented language to build a platform that everyone can use to create the channels of tomorrow.
Minimum qualifications

* BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience.
* Experience in Python.
* Knowledge of network programming and extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.

Preferred qualifications

* PhD in Computer Science.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to create strong working relationship with cross-functional teams.
* Experience in at least one object oriented lanaguage (C, C++ or Java).
* Experience in JavaScript and Actionscript development. Experience in database programming; MySQL.
* Experience in video processing and/or video streaming.
* Experience in distributed computing, information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning.
