As Corporate Counsel at Google, you work on the most exciting legal issues as

an integrated part of the team, you proactively assess legal risks and advise
on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but
move information law forward as well.

As Legal Counsel you will be part of our growing team in EMEA. You will play a
vital role by serving as Google's point of contact for legal matters in Russia
and CIS. You're a qualified lawyer in Russia with substantial professional
experience in intellectual property, technology and media law. As part of your
primary responsibilities you will provide day-to-day legal advice on various
legal issues, and negotiate and draft commercial agreements (including content
and technology licensing). You will demonstrate a deep understanding of
Google's business operations with the ability to think quickly and
practically. As a Legal counsel at Google you will handle a variety of legal
complaints and supervise litigation proceedings when necessary.

Responsibilities

* ​Draft, negotiate and adapt under Russian law a wide variety of commercial agreements, including content licenses and strategic partnership agreements.
* ​Advise management teams, EU and US legal teams, Business Development, Advertising Sales and other business clients on legal matters.
* ​Respond promptly and reliably to internal and external requests for advice, specifically with regards to contracts, IP, advertising and consumer protection under Russian law.
* ​Advise members of the Google legal team and business colleagues on specific issues upon request.
* ​Assist in pre-contentious and contentious matters.

Minimum qualifications

* Qualified lawyer in Russia.
* BA/BSc/LLB/LLM degree. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

* Professional experience with a law firm advising media and technology companies in Russia, and/or in-house experience in this industry.
* Experience of negotiating and drafting content licenses under US or English laws.
* Background in media, communications, intellectual property and contract law, as well as demonstrable litigation experience.
* Deep understanding of online technologies and industry.
* Developed negotiation and interpersonal skills; well organised and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure. Flexibility (including some travel); a sense of humour!
* Written and oral fluency in English and Russian.
