As software architect of the Advanced Technology Group in Google Fiber, you will join our world-class development team and work on feature and system design of next generation broadband network equipment and applications. You will help change the way people think about Google and the Internet. You will define the software to operate, configure and manage brand new IP and photonic networking equipment and consumer broadband technologies throughout this job. Responsibilities * Interface with lead system engineers, product management and network engineering group. * Define embedded and management software architecture for a scalable high-density communication platform. * Create detailed design specifications and APIs for internal and external developers. Minimum qualifications * BS in Computer Science or related engineering field. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience. * Experience with OAM&P and FCAPS. * Linux operating system and C/C++ programming. Preferred qualifications * MS or PhD in Computer Science. * Experience with optical network equipment software development. * Knowledge of high availability software design.
