* Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google's product offering.
* Write server-side code for web-based applications, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.
* Build our platforms, systems and networking infrastructure using your strong background in distributed systems, OS/kernel, network system design,and large scale storage systems.
* Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data and information.
* Solve all problems that come your way.
Minimum qualifications

* BS in Computer Science or related field (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience).
* 1 year relevant industry work experience.
* Experience programming in C/C++ and/or Java.

Preferred qualifications

* Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
* Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
* Experience with large systems software design and development, with extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
* Significant development software with strong knowledge of C/C++ and/or Java.
* Coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming.
