* Develop and implement designs, standards and policies across Google's tera-scaled network infrastructure
* Ensure continued smooth operation of the global network infrastructure focusing on operational reliability and final point of escalation for the network
* Lead and participate on projects that affect the global network, meeting massive scaling, reliability, and performance challenges
* Work on improving processes and automation for networking infrastructure and supporting systems
Minimum qualifications

* BA or BS in EE/CS/CE/Telecommunications. In lieu of degree, 4 years of experience.

Preferred qualifications

* 5 years of substantial experience in a Network Engineer/Architecture position with an Internet service provider or enterprise-level network.
* Strong experience working in a Unix/Linux environment at systems administrator level.
* Experience developing tools to manage networks and automate procedures using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C++.
* Network certifications such as CCIE/JNCIE (or equivalent level of experience).
* Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting ability of TCP/IP, routing (BGP, IGPs and MPLS ) and link layer protocols.
