Google is expanding its Engineering Centre in Sydney. We need world-class
engineers with excellent problem solving and software development skills to
develop Google’s next generation of products. Our engineering team, which
includes some of the key people who created Google Maps, is applying its ideas
to a range of problems including data representation, geospatial search, data
mining, machine learning, natural language processing, server architecture,
computer graphics, web clients, user interfaces, and scalability issues
arising from huge amounts of data and a rapidly increasing user population.

Our Sydney Engineering team is solving fascinating and difficult problems in
computer science and making a positive difference in tens of millions of lives
every day. Google engineers are always on the forefront in the creation of new
and exciting products in a number of areas, and play a key role in the
development of one of the world's most powerful computing infrastructures.

Responsibilities

Minimum qualifications

* BS in Computer Science. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.
* Software development experience.
* Experience with C++ and/or Java (C, Python and JavaScript also useful).
* Experience working with two or more from the following; web application development, UNIX/Linux or Windows environments, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval, network programming and/or developing large software systems, Security software development, mobile application development, natural language processing.

Preferred qualifications

* PhD.
* Enjoys solving interesting problems.
