The Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, secondary to ongoing growth in census and acuity in our NICU is seeking two highly trained, ambitious neonatologists to join our group. The NICU is a large 72-bed unit with a delivery service of approximately 5400 deliveries per year and growing. The varied clinical opportunities include attendance at fetal CV procedures, high risk deliveries, and prenatal consultation for ante-partum mothers. The NICU's patient population includes a wide variety of critically ill neonates with specific interests in the care of infant with cardiac and surgical diagnoses, as well as, the VLBW infants. The critical nature of our VLBW infant population is exemplified by the fact that in 2010, the volume of cardiac procedures, gastrointestinal defects, and CNS defects in the VLBW infants' were 70, 4, and 3.2 fold higher than the national average reported in the Vermont Oxford Network. The pediatric subspecialty support available for our infants is extensive, providing for similar clinical outcomes for our VLBW infant despite the complex clinical presentations noted above. Additionally, we evaluate and treat infants with chromosomal syndromes, sepsis, CDH, and PPHN. Our respiratory support ranges from nasal CPAP, HFNC, nasal ventilation, conventional mechanical ventilation, and high frequency oscillation and jet ventilation.

The practice currently has 9 neonatologist, 2 pediatric hospitalists, and 3 NNPs. We are a part of three active resident training programs, including Pediatric and Family practice residents. Additionally, we have nursing and neonatal nurse practitioners' trainees within the NICU. There are multiple continuous quality improvement projects to be involved with that meet the requirements of the ABP for ongoing Maintenance of Certification. On a personal note, Las Vegas is a great community to live in. It has two major suburbs, Summerlin and Henderson. There are many beautiful planned communities with excellent school systems. Housing is extremely favorable to home buyers. The community offers multiple opportunities for excellent shows, theater, shopping, and dining.
