The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is looking to fill a summer internship position in its Publications department. ICSC is the global trade and professional association of the retail real estate industry. With 60,000 members worldwide, the association represents all facets of the industry including shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers, and other professionals as well as academics and public officials.

The chosen candidate will assist the Publications department with the fulfillment of the following:

Responsibilities

Assist in coordinating production of books, newsletters and other publications by managing vendors, trafficking materials, corresponding with authors and reviewers, and securing supporting materials (including bar codes, outstanding permissions, images/artwork, copyright registrations, etc.)
Proofread/edit misc. copy, including page proofs, cover copy, and promotional materials

Help coordinate Bookstores at ICSC meetings

Distribute new publications to internal management, trustees and book contributors and vendors

Provide general departmental clerical support as necessary

Qualifications

Excellent command of English language and grammar
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word
Knowledge of proofreading and copy editing marks a plus

Staff members will work with the student, if he/she is interested in receiving academic credit for the internship. The application is open to undergraduates and graduate students in business, marketing, retail, real estate, or other disciplines.
