InterContinental Lagos will open in 2013 and will be located on Victoria Island, in the centre of Lagos home to the majority of foreign embassies and multinational companies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travelers. Built on an elevated terrain overlooking Lagos's port and the city below, the 19 storey hotel will offer uninterrupted, spectacular views of Lagos Skyline.
InterContinental Lagos will comprise of 358 well-appointed, elegantly decorated rooms and suites as well as a Club InterContinental floor. Guests will have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, room service and the pool bar for lighter meal choices and snacks. The lobby lounge and cocktail bar will be the perfect setting for casual meetings over coffee or drinks. In addition, for the health conscious traveler there will be a health club bar serving fresh juices. InterContinental Lagos will also offer exclusive business and conference facilities including a state of the art ballroom with a foyer area, and several additional flexible meeting and breakout. Other amenities will include a fully-equipped gym, outdoor pool, and retail space.
We are currently recruiting ourChef de Partie.
As a Chef de Partie, you work under the direction of the Executive Sous Chef, prepare food in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures and local hotel standards, assist in the smooth running of the hotel's kitchen operations by preparing and presenting food to a high standard and maintaining hygiene practices. You will follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Supervise the work of Demi de partie chefs and Commis chefs.
Participates in menu planning in consultation with the Executiuve Chef/Executive sous chef
Preparation, presentation, decoration and menu dishes appropriate to the hotel menu, location and guest mix

* Culinary art degree or its equivalent
* Extensive international experience in branded 5 star hotel or large restaurants with good standards
* Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures
* Experience in high-end city operation with multi unit F&B and large Conference & Event
* Pre opening experience a strong plus
* Strong communication skills in English (verbal, listening, writing)
* Eager to learn & progress, responsible with the willingness to take ownership
* Creative and open minded
* Good understanding of the Nigerian/African business and operation environments and markets
* Service minded and ability to involve and support operations
* Business savvy and good people skills
