The position ofCategory Manager - Premises is a role created within procurement in support of the IHG Procurement strategy. IHG Procurement is undergoing a transformation in support of corporate objectives and the Winning Ways. The incumbent will typically be an experienced procurement manager though this could be a development role for an experienced and capable transactional procurement officer. The incumbent will be capable of managing all of IHG's through life external supplier spend for one or more specific categories or sub-categories through Sourcing Management, Demand Management and Supplier Relationship Management as a structured process to deliver breakthrough results for the business. Managed spend will be in the range of $50-$150m per annum - have up to 250 suppliers and be relatively complex and difficult to manage. A Category Manager is responsible for all external supplier spend within their category area.

The role of the Procurement Category Manager is responsible for Category Scope - Direct responsibility for a portfolio of categories, sub-categories and supplier relationships which are complex and difficult to manage, eg food, beverage, bedroom and laundry. Category Management - To adopt, lead and implement category Management as a structured process creating and leading cross-functional teams or working solus on Just Do It and quick wins projects. Strategy Creation -Create breakthrough strategies which both deliver corporate objectives on behalf of stakeholders. Sourcing - Once approved, will be accountable for the delivery of the sourcing activity including RFX, RFP, and negotiations and contracting to put in place the right suppliers and then manage supplier relationship and performance. Strategy Implementation - To personally and proactively manage all aspects of implementation including entry and exit of suppliers, change management issues, ongoing supplier management and to support demand management on behalf of stakeholders. Continuous Improvement - To ensure that every supplier relationship is set up for future continuous improvement and to lead and manage the measurement and review process that ensures delivery of on-going improvement and performs to deliver required AQSCI. Stakeholder Management - To work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem solving and proactive communication skills. Business Requirements - To have a keen insight and understanding of business requirements on a 1-3 year horizon. Results and Performance - The incumbents will be doers and achievers who get the right things done in the right way. Role Models - The incumbents will be expected to act as exemplars and role models, and deliver role model examples of good practice which can be shared and adopted throughout IHG. Project and Change Management - The complexity of categories and projects requires project management shills and a proven ability to manage change both internal and external through to successful completion.

Band 6
Salary range: $79,000 - $120,000
(* eligible for annual bonus potential)

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration. A fully seasoned professional that has deep relevant expertise of their functional areas. Experience - 5-8 years line procurement experience including practice and leadership of category management in blue-chip organizations, eg GSK, Nokia, Pfizer, Novartis, Wyeth, Kaiser Permanente, etc this will include application in a variety of supply markets. It is likely that the incumbents will be experienced problem solvers.
The incumbents will possess skills of strategic analysis.

** Demonstrated experience in managing categories for engineered products or services with interface and support of technical or engineering stakeholders highly preferred.

Other Information -
Ability to travel 30% of time required.
Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment.
