Inter-American Defense Foundation (IADF) is seeking multiple interns to support its ongoing initiatives in support of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB).

Title: Assistant to the Managing Director of the Inter-American Defense Foundation

Location: IADB/F headquarters, 2600 16th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

Hours and location are flexible but generally entail meeting one evening per week at the IADB/F headquarters located at 2600 16th Street NW, Washington, DC

Supervision: Interns will report directly to the Managing Director of the Foundation

Background: The Inter-American Defense Foundation (IADF) directly supports the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) which is the oldest military and defense organization in the world having been in continuous operation since March 30, 1942. IADB is an international forum which provides unique technical, consultative and educational advisory services in military and hemispheric defense related matters to its member nations, the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas.

The IADB is comprised of the following entities: the Secretariat, the Inter-American Defense College (IADC) and the Council of Delegates. The Council of Delegates represents the following nations: Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
