We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Signalling Project Engineer to support our Sydney Engineering Team. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for directing the activities of the project teams to achieve the maximum project throughput from the resources available. Key Responsibilities: * Monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design construction, testing and financial targets are met and effect remedial action where required. * Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design, installation and testing work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved. * Direct the preparation of contract specifications for projects, evaluate quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available deal for the Company. * Maintain a continuous communication with Sponsors, Projects Managers and functions in all areas requiring an interface in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets. * Participate in planning and programming of resources to meet the requirements of allocated projects. * Forecast the resource requirements necessary for allocated projects in sufficient time to ensure that they can be provided. * Correct processing of design changes in accordance with the Project change management procedure; * Report to the PM any scope deviation, growth or technical change requested by the customer's personnel that has not been passed through the PM; * Contribute to technical threat and risk reviews; * Identify the required budget provision for allocated projects/sub projects to enable target dates to be met. * Safety responsibility in terms of Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including development of the Project Safety Plan. * Personal and technical development for direct reports. Technical Requirements: * Signalling design knowledge and experience - a thorough knowledge of railway signalling engineering principles and practices, rules and regulations for the safe operation of railway traffic and the ability to interpret high-level design specifications. * Hardware and software design experience * Working knowledge of ATC systems and testing experience is desirable Management Experience: * Experienced in working with suppliers * Experience Team Leader * Working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary teams Qualifications: * Minimum of 8-10 years Rail Signalling Engineering Experience * Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent * Membership of a relevant professional body This is an excellent career opportunity that will see you working in a friendly environment, with opportunities for career development.
