The Quality Assurance Tester performs testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling and testing to ensure software applications that are developed meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards.

Responsibilities:

* Develops and implements quality assurance standards and procedures for maintaining and/or enhancing the integrity of systems applications; defines and tracks quality assurance metrics.
* Uses automated testing tools to validate the integrity of software applications.
* Works with IT staff to create/analyze various required project documents to ensure compliance with IT standards and to confirm the department’s understanding of those documents.
* Creates and updates defect tracking logs and works with IT staff to ensure that all defects are resolved.
* Creates and executes detailed test plans and scripts to verify software application functionality and adherence to defined business requirements.
* Tracks and reports on project and maintenance defects.
* Contributes to plans and execution for defect reduction across project and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education or equivalent experience required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

At least four years experience in manual/automated software testing or related experience. Must have experience in all phases of the development life cycle. Experience with automated testing software required.

Efficiently utilize a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Office and Internet proficiencies.
*
Experience in organizing and writing reports of a technical nature. Able to communicate results to all levels of employees with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
*
Able to enjoy the challenge of working with technology in a rapidly changing environment.
*
Proven experience in solving complex or technical problems for individuals or teams. Experience with analyzing and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of options and exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills.
*
Strong work ethic, timely and accurately organize, prioritize and complete all job responsibilities.
*
Work independently and with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality work product and output.
*
Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
