The group consists of senior business strategists, developers, infrastructure and architecture specialists, usability professionals, interactive designers, editors, project support and operations staff. CIG works closely with all lines of business including: Auto Lending, Business Banking, Card Services, Commercial Banking, Education Finance, Home Lending, Investing, Private Bank, Private Client Services, Retail and Treasury. CIG's goal is to provide consistent, integrated internet applications that are intuitive, dependable and easy to use for all customers. CIG is currently searching for a Data Architect. This person will define and manage the data architecture for CIG and engage across all CIG delivery areas including solution architecture, development, technical operations, testing project management, and production support. As a data architect you will be expected to review project requirements and determine the appropriate data solution utilizing the necessary modeling tools. You will also be expected to deliver your solutions based upon the guidelines and best practices set forth within our organization and strive to create new policies as needed. The candidate must have strong technical skills in either DB2 LUW or MS SQL Server 2008 and be able to tailor the solutions accordingly. Performance tuning will be a key aspect of the role and the candidate must be able to apply tuning techniques to multiple areas including the software (stored procedures via explain plans), the data model (usage patterns, normalization factor, indexing), the physical data layout (tablespaces and partitioning), and the operational aspects (data purging, statistics, and memory utilization). As an architect within CIG, the candidate will need to weigh architecture strategy, consider implications for implementation support and ensure alignment with project goals business objectives. The position will require involvement with the analysis, modeling, overall application architecture, technical systems design, development implementation. The candidate must have strong communication and personal skills, be able to effectively communicate to stakeholders, and keep all levels of project and delivery management informed on status and relevant impact. The candidate must follow and contribute to CIG Architecture and CIG IT delivery practices in the areas of:
  • Project concept and project implementation reviews and delivery
  • Best practice, standards , guidelines definition and usage reviews
  • Roadmap and blueprint definition and review
  • Engagement on critical production problems
