Summary: This is an analytical position on the Risk and Fraud Data Analysis team. The employee will report directly to the Analytics Manager in GSI's Business Intelligence Team. The position will require an in-depth understanding of fraud and risk activities, working with business intelligence tools, loss trending, threshold modeling, and the use of a broad array of data mining and modeling techniques (such as Logistic and Linear Regression, Chi-Squared, and Multi-step modeling) to complete in-depth fraud analysis. This individual will work to enhance current fraud tool initiatives while maintaining a clear focus on providing our fraud investigations department a more comprehensive investigative strategy. This individual will be responsible for the modeling and profile creation and maintenance for JP Morgan Chase's fraud investigation activities. Essential Job Functions:
  1. Focuses on the identification of emerging fraud trends through an analysis of historic and current fraud data, including modeling and profiling.
  2. Provides analysis around early detection of check fraud, internal fraud, internet fraud, and cross channel related frauds, while managing critical system models.
  3. Works with Risk, other bank partners, and other GSI groups to maximize data intelligence. Gathers, tracks, and reviews all internal and external data leads related to fraud issues.
  4. Develops Business Intelligence fraud tool models to identify and outsort fraud alerts for investigative review.
  5. Researches and takes action on new methods of committing internal and external fraud. Analyzes and identifies fraudulent patterns based on actionable data intelligence to mitigate losses.
  6. Ensure proper mitigation efforts are taken on any/all significant trends related to fraud and risk issues.
  7. Recognizes opportunities for addressing fraud issues, risks and exposures, and updates test fraud models utilizing champion/challenger flows.
  8. Advises GSI Management of fraud trends and how business intelligence tools can be enhanced.
Scope:
  • Ongoing monitoring of fraud events using tools available today, and assisting in the development and enhancement of additional analytic tools
  • Create ad hoc and standardized reports for GSI
  • Analysis on fraud events and trends including liaison with key business partners and peers to identify emerging trends and understand existing analytical strategies
  • Ability to data mine using business tools to create and analyze large data sets with the end goal of detecting trends and making recommendations based on these findings
  • Work with product and development teams to design and develop fraud tools for new and existing products in GSI
  • Perform root cause analysis on recent losses and loss trends with the ability to drive changes to fraud tools, policies and procedures
  • Ability to manage project risk initiatives and requirements from conception to execution
