Business Description: Market Risk Middle Office is a group under Risk Reporting, Finance, Information Management within Corporate Risk. The group is responsible for Market Risk data control and risk analysis. Examples of the group's work include daily Value-at-Risk, Market data and Stress analysis and verification, Legal Entity and Stress Testing reporting and controlling. Market Risk Middle Office has regular dialogue with Market Risk Management, Product Control, Business Middle Office, Regulatory Reporting teams and Technology team across the various lines of business with respect to risk feeding, representation and reporting in Market Risk systems. Furthermore, the team is involved in a variety of business projects such as system migration and feed onboardings. The group also participates in major projects within and outside the group. This includes the Market Risk Initiative (MRI) which will improve the market risk infrastructure, analysis, and reporting. In addition to this existing responsibility the Market Risk MO is looking to monitor and build controls around the Basel 2.5 control agenda partnering with Product Control groups. We are looking to fill a Vice President position within Market Risk Middle Office. The position will be based in either New York or London. Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a team of two people providing oversight to ensure core daily and weekly controls around data exceptions for Basel 2.5 are being monitored and investigated.
  2. Review business unit, legal entity, regional and corporate Regulatory VAR for reasonableness. Analyze drivers (e.g. market data, reference data, Market Value, hierarchy changes etc.) and verify inputs.
  3. Manage relationship with Line of Business Product Control, Middle Office groups, Market Risk Technology, Regulatory Reporting and Model Review and Development groups.
  4. Develop and manage a project path to establish further controls to solidify the existing Basel 2.5 framework. Work with groups such as Regulatory Reporting and Product Control teams to understand key support functions that the MRMO team would need to support.
  5. Complete ad hoc projects and infrastructure process improvement initiatives around the general PCM process.
  6. Research and resolve Line of Business Product Control, Regulatory Reporting and Audit inquiries with respect Regulatory VaR and PCM processes.
  7. Manage small projects for the global Market Risk Middle Office. Responsibility for engaging and updating the global team w.r.t. upcoming technology releases and testing requirements around PCM, with Market Risk Infrastructure Projects team.
  8. Maintain daily procedure manuals, ensuring that all local regulatory requirements are met.
