JOB OVERVIEW The derivatives legal team in Hong Kong has an open position for a lawyer to cover the sales and trading businesses. General coverage will include listed and non listed products for flow and structured equity products as well as hybrid products which combine equity linked features with commodities and fixed income referenced assets. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include assisting in the negotiation, review, drafting and approval of documentation relating to the issuance of listed structured products such as cash settled covered warrants and callable bull bear contracts and non listed structured products in securitized format, such as participation notes and low exercise price warrants. A basic understanding of the ISDA framework and OTC transactions is required. A good understanding of Euro MTN issuance programmes and the regulatory landscape in APAC together with experience in updating such issuance programmes will be required. The successful candidate will be expected to work with and closely manage external counsel in coordinating transactional and advisory work. The candidate will also be required to liaise extensively with internal business and support functions and provide legal analysis on new business initiatives, internal policies relating to the issuance of structured products as well as advising on general aspects of the equities / EDG business. This position will be based in Hong Kong where the incumbent will primarily be working with the front office and other support groups to deliver effective, timely and practical legal solutions to the equities business across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
