Lawyer to act as J.P. Morgan's country counsel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Vice President Assistant General Counsel The Legal Compliance Department of JP Morgan Chase Co (JPM). seeks an attorney in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ("KSA") to support its franchiseacross the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) businesses, including Global Corporate Bank (GCB), Global Investment Bank (IB) and Treasury Services (TS).The Legal Compliance Department of JP Morgan Chase Co. comprises over 500 lawyers globally. The GCB was created to manage relationships globally with the firm's corporate, financial institution and public sector clients. GCB also provides corporate lending services in more than 60 countries where the firm has operations. As one of the globally leading investment bank, J.P. Morgan's IB works with a broad range of clients - from large corporates and middle market, to financial institutions and governments and provides advisory, capital raising and risk management solutions to help clients achieve their financial objectives. These include merger, acquisition, divestiture and restructuring advice and full-service capital raisings. J.P. Morgan's TS is a top-ranked, full service provider of transactional services to leading corporate and institutional clients globally. TS comprises Treasury Services, which provides cash management, trade finance, liquidity and payment card services. The attorney will be based in JPM Riyadh branch and support JPM's KSA senior management. The attorney will partner and work closely with teams across the CIB including GCB, IB and TS business lines to achieve strategic objectives in growing the conventional and Islamic businesses in KSA and globally. Among the responsibilities, the attorney will be:
  • Advising J.P. Morgan's KSA country management in connection with day-to-day activities and development of new products and services. Will be a member of the Saudi Country Management Committee.
  • Developing template and bespoke documentation for conventional and Islamic products, transactions and services offered by the CIB business lines.
  • Negotiating a range of credit arrangements for clients, e.g. import/export/trade financing agreements, bilateral and syndicated credit facilities, working capital loans, guarantees and collateral arrangements.
  • Providing legal support relating to management and governance matters in KSA.
  • Selecting and instructing external counsel where necessary.
  • Coordinating delivery of legal services with Legal Compliance department colleagues across the MENA region and worldwide.
  • Building legal policies and procedures across business lines as they relate to KSA.
  • Analyzing and guiding the firm on local legal and regulatory issues in KSA across all business lines, working closely with Compliance in KSA.
  • Ability to interact effectively with regulators in KSA.
