J.P. Morgan Private Bank Associate, Manager Selection The J.P. The Private Bank addresses every facet of wealth management from investment management and brokerage to tax and estate planning, credit, capital raising, and specialty wealth advisory services. The manager selection team is responsible for selecting and monitoring asset managers for the clients of the Global Wealth Management business. This includescommunications with asset managers, internal investors and clients considering the use of an asset manager in an investment program. Managers include multiple asset classes across both equity and fixed income. The team is global and works closely with the asset class leaders, portfolio construction, and the London based team in building and maintaining a full product suite. Responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Understand and communicate the impact of including a particular manager or strategy in a multiple asset or multiple manager structure.
  • Maintain records on assigned managers through use of internal database and other standardized record keeping systems.
  • Articulate how the manager selection process functions and how both external and proprietary strategies fit the private bank strategy for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate with Bankers and Investors through the JPM network on all client matters.
  • Develop a relationship with asset managers to facilitate negotiations and general communications.
The attributes of theAssociate in Manager Selectioninclude:
  • Experience with in asset management; equity research, analyst (credit or equity) and/or management
  • Deep understanding of a broad range of financial and investment principles. Must convey knowledge and credibility in front of the managers and investors.
  • Able to draw out information through good listening and questioning skills.
