The role and responsibilities include:
. Component and manufacturing tooling design, analysis, debug and rework.
• Writing documentation for designing, building, testing and reworking systems.
• Conceptualize design layout, package prototyping, fixture/tooling design.
• Develop tooling/fixtures/equipment for manual and semi-automated assembly and process development.
• Strong Mechanical Design skills, a strong understanding of general opto-mechanical design practices, particularly design for manufacturability and precision tolerances study.
• Manufacturing experience/exposure to semiconductor or fiber optics components manufacturing.
. Experience in automation and system integration is a plus.
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 -7 years of mechanical design experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks is a must, and Pro/Engineer is a plus.
- Working knowledge of high- and low-volume manufacturing processes is desirable.
- Knowledge of piece part manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, machining, die casting, thin film and thick film ceramics, and HTCC ceramics is desirable
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Experence in complex (6 degree) micro-optic packaging equipment automation is a plus.
