Job Summary

This position is a field implementation function that has overall responsibility for the implementation of Kaplan 's international programs and services. The Director manages a team of full- and part-time staff members that are responsible for the successful delivery of and budget management of contracts with institutional clients (primarily governments, districts, schools, and community-based organizations). S/he is responsible for the success of programs as measured by customer satisfaction, student results, budget management, customer renewals and referrals. Entrepreneurial skills and attitude are essential to building this team and function so the business can be expanded. The Director should also have an understanding of best practices for K-12 education, especially in settings with underperforming schools. He/she must be able to demonstrate the creative problem-solving skills and leadership required to ensure successful implementations that meet client needs and support student achievement.


  • Lead the team that ensures successful fulfillment of contracts, most of which include on-site services as well as materials and training
  • Anticipate, solve, and prevent problems involved in fulfillment of contract deliverables for mutual satisfaction and benefit to customers and the company
  • Create strategic plans for his/her region to strengthen the current team, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiencies
  • Lead, manage, and motivate implementation team members who deliver programs and services internationally
  • Monitor key contracts to ensure all timelines and deliverables are met within an approved budget and resource plan
  • Communicate and meet with administrators, teachers and leadership from key accounts to assess needs, consult on the project deliver training and provide regular status reports as required
  • Drive process and project management strategies for to ensure contract fulfillment, developing tools and protocols for the team's focus, assessing what is working and what needs improvement, and continuing to refine the process based on field and home office feedback
  • Coordinate internally with curriculum, technology, operations, and other centralized teams to improve delivery of programs and services
  • Manage resources effectively against project pro-formas and a defined team budget
  • Assist in strategic initiatives to improve internal implementation processes
  • Develop a high-performing team of support personnel that meets client and internal expectations via quarterly reviews, clear goal-setting processes, and regular check-in strategies
Required Skills and Credentials:
  • BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred. Degree in education and/or teacher certification strongly preferred or equivalent extended course of training.
  • International travel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean required for strategic account and management
  • purposes (on a monthly basis)
  • Fluency in Spanish required (speaking, reading and writing)
  • Project and budget management skills required
  • Experience managing large implementations and teams of 20+ people
  • 5+ years classroom teaching or implementation management experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Self starter with a high energy level, commitment to excellence, and a diligent work ethic
