Visit www.kellycareernetwork.com     Current Needs: Currently seeking for a Medical Assistant to work as "Public Programs Coordinator" in Woodland Hills, CA. This is a temporary position with a possibility of becoming temp to hire.     Summary:
The Public Programs Coordinator is responsible for developing improved coordination processes and implementing procedures that promote member access to appropriate public programs and carved-out services. This position is also responsible for communicating and collaborating with various public programs to ensure access to services for client's members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides information, technical assistance and training to departmetns including, but not limited to, Member Services, Provider Network Management, Health Care Services, Community Relations, Pharmacy and Claims.
  • Handles triage coordination of service on calls and referrals for Member Services.
  • Conducts escalated service coordination on complex cases and supervises progress of ongoing provider-based coordination activities.
  • Serves as client's on-site liaison in high-volume tertiary care centers to make referrals and coordinate carved-out public program services.
  • Serves as client's liaison to public agency programs to make referrals and coordinate carved-out public program services.
  • Manages programs and projects such as Regional Center Coordinator Program, Transportation Services Project, School Health Integration and Children's Hospital Coordination Project and works with respective vendors.
  • Prepares critical program access documentation to meet contract compliance standards.
  • Researches and prepares conflict resolution documentation.
  • Tests and implements program database enhancements. Writes business case to identify ways to improve data collection.
  • Disseminates critical California Children Services (CCS) information to client's departments including, but not limited to, Claims, Health Care Services and Finance.
  • Develops and tests state program data exchange interfaces. Acts as subject matter expert for Medi-Cal and Healthy Families health plan public programs interface.
  • Develops reports and provides analyses to assist with business decisions regarding high-risk members/financial exposure, transportation, CCS, Regional Centers, school health and County Social Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     

Education:
Completed Medical Assisting Program

HS Degree or GED

 

Certification/License:
Current Medical Assistant Certification

 

Experience:
Minimum three years experience in multiple clinics, managed care and/or Medi-Cal pediatric clinic

Medi-Cal pediatric clinic experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Knowledge of publicly-funded health care programs in California Customer service skills Clinical office skills Personal computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office applications Verbal and written communication skills Presentation skills Organizational skills Bilingual preferred       Application Contact Info:
