Job Description
Kelly Services is hiring! We are in search of an entry level Print Press / CNC / Machine Operator for a possible temporary to hire, 2nd shift job opportunity in the Burr Ridge, Illinois area. Experienced candidates with Machine Set Up / CNC / Print Press desired but not required.

Our client, an industry leader in medical and automotive printing, is looking for a Print Press / Machine Operator for a 2nd shift position. The selected candidate must have experience working with tight tolerances and machine set up. The ideal candidate should have a technical / engineering / or scientific background. Entry level Engineering and Science candidates with energy and a desire to learn and grow would be a perfect fit.

Summary of the Printing Press Operator / Print Press Operator position:
Sets up and operates equipment in a manner to produce components and/or assemblies per documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Printing Press Operator / Print Press Operator include :
Reads work orders and interprets blueprints and engineering specifications to determine printer setup, methods and sequence of operation, following all appropriate ISO procedures.
Selects, secures, positions and maintain required tooling, fixturing, guarding and raw materials to perform operations. Color matches or blends ink components as necessary to meet required specifications. Assistance maybe required.
Inspects and measures work, making adjustments as necessary through printing process to assure all specifications and requirements are maintained. Capable to complete various first articles through the use of various measurement devices.
Responsible to report and maintain accurate ERP transactions in order to maintain cost, efficiencies, inventory and integrity.
Capable of performing cycle counts on inventory when required.
Responsible to understand, follow and comply with all Company policies, procedures, guidelines, process and methods.
Responsible for routine minor maintenance of printing equipment (including cleaning, lubricating, adjustments and minor repairs)
Responsible for repairing minor screen/plate defects to assure appropriate printing quality.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Prepares/sets up jobs from production schedule release. Sourcing all required materials to fulfill job demands.
Capable of prioritizing work across a designated department for most effective and efficient printing flow. Meeting all customer requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement events.
Responsible to familiarize other operators with task.

Education and/or Experience required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CNC Operator or Laser Operator experience a big plus
Experience working with tight tolerances

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills needed for the Printing Press Operator / Print Press Operator:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
