Description Collaborate with other technology verticals, Business Unit/Function partners and external customers/suppliers to deliver a new service. As part of the Information Technology Services for Business (ITSB), you will help architect and manage I/T Infrastructure at a global Enterprise level. This position will be responsible for the new and complex architecture of UCC services within our company. This includes the integration and interaction of services within UCC as well as with other major communication and collaboration platforms including: tradition voice and existing voice-over-ip solutions, IM, e-mail, and the UCC capabilities of our suppliers, partners, and customers. This role will provide technical leadership as one of the Architects within the UC team, and will strongly influence the future direction and course of the service. We are looking for an individual with significant background and proven success in implementing and supporting Microsoft Lync deployments on premise within an enterprise. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively is central to its Strategic Intent 2015 goals. Today, service components that UCC will implement globally would be leveraged by over 25,000 users globally, and could soon grow to up to 60,000 end users in hundreds of locations. Functionality will eventually include IM/Presence, Conferencing (Audio/Web/Video) and Voice over IP. UCC must deliver the required capabilities: rock-solid stability, enhanced "simple" usability and integration, and seamless external integration. Applicants will be providing technology leadership on a new team with global responsibilities. This role will work with external parties globally to ensure service delivery for the UCC environment. You will proactively establish a strong working relationship with vendors and apply best practices that fully leverage internal and Third Party Service provider(s) services. You will also ensure processes adhere to ITIL standards. The architects within the UCC team will be responsible for managing technical solutions and support of the UCC environment. The scope will include Risk and Controls Management, Record and Information Management, Application Lifecycle Management, Application Availability, Performance and Capacity, IT Service Continuity, Version Control, Architecture and Knowledge Management. Principal Accountabilities: 35% -Architecture Strategy Leadership. In coordination with Enterprise Architecture, our UCC Architects define and manage UC strategy. Define system requirements based on required service availability, performance and usability needs defined for the UCC system in alignment with UCC strategy. Propose high-level technical or data solutions to meet those requirements which are complex and global in nature. You will propose and manage production implementation for technical components and configuration changes based on operational needs and project deliverables. Ensure quality, completion, value creation/capture and drive business change through technology. Collaborate with key suppliers, customers, and internal business partners to develop manage UCC strategy Represent areas of responsibility within the UCC service in Enterprise Architecture contexts (committees, working groups, strategy sessions and architecture sub-domains). Act as an advocate for Cargill with suppliers, to influence their product strategy and development. Ensure that key stakeholder's needs for infrastructure and application technical designs of the UCC technical solution are met from end-to-end (ideation through implementation) Provide coaching, guidance, and architectural oversight for areas of responsibility within operational needs, and all phases of project activity for which you're assigned. Lead collaboration when infrastructure issues arise. Ensure that coordination and management of environments (configuration changes, usage and outage management) occurs according to expectations Communicate and educate on UCC technical architecture for external and internal partners. 30% - Service Delivery. Assist with overall global service delivery aligned with SLA goals and service strategy. Manage the implementation and deployment of new software versioning, infrastructure and processes through EUS resources and/or 3rd party resources or contractors. Help ensure: project execution resource planning, level 2 and 3 incident resolution, problem management and root cause analysis, and knowledge management. Provide solution implementation architecture governance and oversight while collaborating with other partner I/T teams internal and external. This position will participate in an on-call schedule, in rotation for escalation of production environment issues and major incidents during and after business hours. 15% - Risk and Controls. Implement and oversee management of appropriate controls which will be built into processes ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations is a by-product of following standard process. Develop proper control standards and ensure they are implemented, and maintained through frequent audits or control points. Produce and monitor compliance metrics and reports ensuring continuous improvement. 5% - EUS Wildly Important Goals - Define, prioritize, and oversee the alignment of activities to EUS wildly important goals and objectives. 5% - Federation and Application Integration. Collaborate to produce, review, and approve technical integration capabilities and architecture for external and internal federation of presence and other UCC functionality. 10% - Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Demonstrated ability to work across cultures. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience and: 6 + years of information technology experience with at least two of these in a role responsible for architecture or administration of enterprise level/global infrastructure. Proven ability to define Microsoft Lync (or OCS) architecture for complex global environments and oversee their successful implementation and operationalization. Robust knowledge of a variety of telephony technologies and end points, examples: (PBX/PSTN - e.g. Nortel), Cisco Call Manager, desk phones, soft phones, speaker phone devices and vendors (Polycom, Plantronics, Jabra.etc) Broad understanding of technical architecture enabling a global enterprise communication and collaboration solutions. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory Demonstrated success in defining architecture strategy, and technical solutions to meet business requirements Experience working with third party resources and/or outsourcing relationship management. Strong written and verbal communications skills at all levels of the organization, including the ability to communicate technical and business information to both technical and non-technical people. Experience in delivering voice resiliency, and implementing e-911 solutions that track where people are when they need help in an organization. (Specifically UC solutions that incorporate desk, laptop and soft phones) Strong knowledge of Microsoft Lync policy management and methods of process automation (example: PowerShell scripting) Robust knowledge of a variety of telephony end points (desk phone, soft phone, speaker phone devices) and vendors (Polycom, Plantronics, Jabra.etc) Experience managing vendor relationships and procurement of carrier solutions in the global voice communications market (e.g. those from vendors such as ATT, Verizon, Sprint, Global Crossings, Orange), including cost estimation for variety of different voice applications. Experience in service management and delivery, with good understanding of ITIL processes. Ability to work independently, make timely and effective decisions, and create the needed support for those decisions. Ability to prioritize amongst multiple initiatives. Significant experience with diagramming tools such as Visio and Microsoft PowerPoint. Strong understanding of systems development life cycle. Previous experience working with Enterprise/global hosting infrastructure teams, networking teams and architecture governance.
