Job Description:
Under general supervision, assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Record test procedures and results using numerical and graphical data. Helps prepare proposals, cost estimates and work load. Assist in establishing completion dates.

High school diploma or equivalent experience. Typically requires at least 3 year experience.

Strong oral and written communications skills. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Requirements

The minimum requirements for the candidate must be either 1
year of HVAC training received at a recognized institution or 5 years
of HVAC field experience. Also required are excellent
communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and
familiarity with computer software (e.g., MS Office). The ideal
candidate has had direct experience with the set-up and operation of
Psychrometric Rooms, a 2 year Associates Degree in HVAC, and at least
3 years HVAC field technician experience.

The
minimum skillset requirements include brazing, EPA certification,
evacuation and charging methods with R22 and R410A. Also
required are a working knowledge of HVAC heat transfer principles,
air flow measurement, and reading basic electrical schematics
associated with HVAC equipment. Familiarity with industry
standards such as AHRI 210/240, ASHRAE 37, and UL 1995 is a
plus. Experience with HVAC troubleshooting/diagnostics and the
ability to follow engineering test procedures are highly desirable
skillsets for interested candidates.
