Job Summary: This position will support LLUMC’s strategic plan and the organization’s mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. Reports to Supervisor-Pharmacy, Supervisor-Pharmacy Division or Director. Works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Division Supervisor to provide a wide scope pharmaceutical service. Is responsible for analyzing, dispensing, compounding, monitoring, and recommending appropriate pharmaceutical care for patients of all ages. Work is accomplished in accordance with the policies and regulations of local, state and federal authorities as well as accepted standards of practice. Assists in the training and education of new pharmacists, technicians, students, and residents. Performs other duties as needed. Job Specifications: Graduate from a school of pharmacy accredited by American Council of Pharmaceutical Education with Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required. PharmD is required if Pharmacist is assigned to work in NICU or PICU. Minimum of one year of post-graduate hospital experience required. Registered and licensed Pharmacist by the State of California required. Able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality; use computer for data input, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Ability to maintain good public relations skills. Ability to interact positively with broad range of co-workers. Promotes teamwork. Able to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction.
