Three years of relevant industrial experience in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or electrical/electronics engineering technology are required. Applicants should have experience teaching at the college or university level. Applicants must possess a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or closely related field. An earned doctorate and a professional engineering license are desirable. Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English. Supplemental Information: The position begins January 2013. Applications will be reviewed beginning now, and will continue until the position is filled. Examples include, but are not limited to: DC/AC circuits; digital systems; control systems; microprocessors; digital signal processing; medical instrumentation; and image processing. A successful applicant will be required to advise and mentor students, to maintain prescribed office hours, and to perform other duties as assigned by the department, college, or university. Further, he or she will be expected to grow the new concentration in Biomedical Engineering Technology into a full four-year degree through curriculum and course development, accreditation, and recruiting. Finally, he or she will be expected to participate in scholarship, the accreditation process, departmental and facility improvement programs, recruiting, grant writing, research, departmental and university committees, and official functions.
