The vacancy is located in the Housekeeping Departmentof Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System, Jackson, LA. ELMHS is the largest 24-hour, multi-site, state psychiatric complex, comprised of residential, outpatient and inpatient services.

The position is in a Career Progression Group and may be filled as either Custodian 1 or Custodian 2, depending on experience. A valid driver's license may be required for this position.

Special Entrance Rate:
Custodian 1 is $1,256.67 monthly
Custodian 2 is $1,296.53 monthly

The maximum salary for a Custodian 2 is $2,342.00. Please refer to the “Job Specifications” tab located at the top of the LA Careers “Current Job Opportunities page” for specific information on salary ranges, minimum qualification requirements and job concepts for each level.

Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.

Empties and decontaminates trash containers.

Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.

Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.

Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.

Cleans and waxes floors using industrial-size mops and/or machines.

Strips and polishes floors using buffing machines.

Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
