CAHSD is a national recipient of the SAMHSA Physical Health Integration Grant and a community-based site for local residency training.

Examples of Work:
Treatall clients through consultation with clinical staff, direct client contact or delegation to subordinatepersonnel providing consultation on all clinical matters pertinent to the care and treatment of clients.

Prescribe and administer medications, monitor clients'' biological and psychological response, providing education about prescribed medications.
Responsible for patient management with a multidisciplinary team consisting of other psychiatrists, social workers and nursing staff.

Handle psychiatric emergencies, including issuing Physician Emergency Certificate (PEC).

Complete medical records and other documentation timely and accurately in accordance with policy and procedures.

Follow admissions, evaluation, prescribing and treatment policies and procedures for all clients served.

Supervise and provide necessary medical services for psychiatric clients. Responsible for referring Primary Care and/or non-psychiatric medical care issues to appropriate sources.

Participate in staff conferences which are related to client services, to administrative or program matters and in-service training.

Will report directly to CAHSDMedical Director.
