Supplemental Information: Capital Area Human Services District (CAHSD) is a well respected community-based, diverse and multi-site behavioral health provider in the greater Baton Rouge area. It is known for innovative approaches to the needs of clients of all ages in both urban and rural settings. Treatment and outreach settings vary from traditional clinics. Our treatment and outreach settings include mobile teams, school-based to residential addiction treatment. Our treatment team has ongoing close coordination and collaboration with local and state governments, schools, law enforcement, hospitals, and prisons and jails for prisoner post-release coordination. CAHSD is a national recipient of the SAMHSA Physical Health Integration Grant and a community-based site for local residency training. Located in a historic and culturally-rich part of the country, Baton Rouge is within an 80-mile commute to New Orleans and just a few hours away from the Gulf Shores and Houston, Texas. For further information about this vacancy contact: Lisa Fair at (225) 922-2394 Human Resources Department Examples of Work: Treat all clients through consultation with clinical staff, direct client contact or delegation to subordinate personnel providing consultation on all clinical matters pertinent to the care and treatment of clients. Prescribe and administer medications, monitor clients' biological and psychological response, providing education about prescribed medications. Responsible for patient management with a multidisciplinary team consisting of other psychiatrists, social workers and nursing staff. Handle psychiatric emergencies, including issuing Physician Emergency Certificate (PEC). Complete medical records and other documentation timely and accurately in accordance with policy and procedures. Follow admissions, evaluation, prescribing and treatment policies and procedures for all clients served. Supervise and provide necessary medical services for psychiatric clients. Responsible for referring Primary Care and/or non-psychiatric medical care issues to appropriate sources. Participate in staff conferences which are related to client services, to administrative or program matters and in-service training. Will report directly to CAHSD Medical Director.
