Computer Programmer
We are currently seeking a Computer Programmer at the Center of Excellence in Naval Aviation at Patuxent Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD for this robust program.
Responsible for developing, maintaining, documenting operating programs for use on automated electronic data processing equipment. Designs and writes moderately complex computer programs to handle a particular user’s need. Prepares program specifications and system diagrams. Develops machine coding logic flow charts. Encodes, tests, debugs and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with the computer operator and user needs. Reviews test procedures and makes revisions and refinements to existing programs of an intermediate level of complexity. Assist users with day-to-day problems by troubleshooting moderately complex problems occurring in programs or databases. Operates computer system to check out programs; troubleshoot and test systems. May diagnose and solve moderately complex program problems. Codes, tests and installs program repairs needed to keep programs running on a timely and accurate basis. Prepares and maintains program documentation and production procedures for new program.
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems Division, Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Department (NAWCAD) Patuxent River Code 4.5.8, located in Southern, MD is the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and Software Support Activity (SSA) for Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCLS). The ATC Division provides systems engineering support to developmental programs such as the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS), Navy Unmanned Combat Air System (N-UCAS) and Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) programs. The JPALS program is developing the next generation air traffic control and landing system. 
Required Credentials and Experience:
·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in computer science or information management systems is required.
·        Three years of experience in programming.
·        High school diploma is required.
·        Nine years of experience in programming.

Requires High School diploma or equivalent and five to six years of related (programming) experience. Associate's degree with course work towards a Bachelor's degree preferred.
