GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Materials Handler is the entry level position for all new hires in the warehouse.  Under general supervision, they are responsible for manual work in receiving, storing, distributing and monitoring of goods, materials, and supplies within their section.  Perform other related work as required. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Be on time and ready to work with all materials; help pull red desk and deliveries; help load customers merchandise; undergo training in areas of the warehouse and safety; maintain a clean work environment; stay busy while being safe; help other sections when needed; other duties as directed by management.  Once the Materials Handler has shown knowledge in warehouse functions, they will be moved to a specific department.
 

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
 
Heavy Work:Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly to move objects.

Work Environment:Occasionally works in hot and/or cold temperatures and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
