The Financial Analyst - Real Estate is focused on compiling and analyzing new market and existing portfolio information to provide a comprehensive overview of existing and new markets to facilitate profitable real estate decisions. This position must have strong analytical and communication skills along with a good technical aptitude. They will work closely with associates in Financial Planning, Leasing and the Field to ensure appropriate input is received on all projects.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

Responsible for overseeing comprehensive market research for all potential new stores as requested by the Leasing representatives including:

  • Preparation of multi-scenario financial projections on each location incorporating various volume and cannibalization projections.
  • Detailed and analytical review of all Real Estate Worksheets ensuring accurate and timely completion for committee meetings.
  • Provide concise, but complete overviews on each market highlighting primary strengths and concerns.
  • Continually reviewing the evaluation process to find new sources of information and refining uses of existing information.

Perform research and analysis on the existing portfolio in an effort to better understand the common factors that make successful maurices stores:

  • Identify recurring situations and issues relating to new and existing locations and providing insights and observations to real estate team.
  • Recapping and analyzing the post-opening performance of the new stores and identifying and relaying trends to appropriate associates .
  • Monitoring the profitability of existing stores ensuring we maintain a strong/profitable portfolio.
  • Identify all available resources to enhance the evaluation process.

Coordinate/administrate the development and use of the site selection software to maximize the benefits.

Coordinate semi-annual real estate meetings (new store and problem store) providing information for review and meeting follow-up as requested.

Facilitate and ensure excellent partnerships with Leasing and Field representatives ensuring appropriate communication and input into the real estate process.

  • This position requires a minimum of a 4 year degree in a Finance/Business related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial analyst role.
  • This position requires strong communication and analytical skills along with a strong technical apptitude.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once are necessary.
