Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position performs major and minor repairs/service work to Menards Fleet, consisting of forklifts, cars/trucks, trailers, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair
* Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and related parts
* Perform maintenance work to DOT standards for over the road equipment
* Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane and battery powered engines/equipment
* General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
* Perform preventative maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
* Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
* Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed

Skills/Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Knowledge of standard practices, equipment, and tools of the fleet equipment trade
* Knowledge of forklift and automobile mechanical and electrical systems
* Ability to lift 75+lbs
* Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
* Basic welding and maintenance experience
