About This Position

Assigns ICD-9-CM (International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification, 9th Revision) and/or CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes to hospital records for the purposes of reimbursement, regulations compliance and research, as follows: Coder III focuses on Inpatient and Observation Coding. Routinely codes all work types.Demonstrated proficiency in both Inpatient and Outpatient coding.

EDUCATION
REQUIRED:

Associates Degree RHIA RHIT CCS or CPC
Outpatient coding RHIA, RHIT, CCS

PREFERRED
EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years demonstrated proficiency in Inpatient coding and 1 year
