JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for advancing the standard of nursing practice through expert clinical practice, education, consultation, and research. Functions with a high level of independent judgment, using skills and knowledge acquired through advanced education and experience to enhance patient care. Contributes expert clinical nursing perspective to organizational planning and decision-making using expert knowledge, evidence-based practice, problem-solving skills, evaluation, collaboration, leadership, and role modeling.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Current RN licensure in state of Iowa. Master’s Degree in Nursing is required. Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization in specialty area within two years of hire. Minimum of five years of demonstrated progressive clinical experience including area of specialty is required.Proven interpersonal communication skills, problem solving and conflict management skills are essential. Excellent communication skills including public speaking, presentation and writing skills. Able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change. Ability to work under time pressure, able to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously and succeed under an environment of competing priorities. Experience in evaluating research studies. Ability to work flexible hours and modify workload as needed. Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider or HealthStream Heart Code) or American Red Cross (Professional Rescuer) via current card prior to employment. Maintains current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Maintains current certification in Advance Life Support (ACLS) Completes Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire. Renews Mandatory Reporting requirement every 5 years. Obtain and maintain dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
