Job Summary:This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care to antepartum, labor, postpartum and newborns patients/families using the nursing process. Directs patient/family education and delegates to ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards. Provides care to patients in the Medical and Surgical Area as assigned.

Qualifications: Graduate of a program in professional nursing. Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa. Previous experience in an acute care setting, minimum of 1 year. Previous perinatal experience preferred.Must provide proof of Basic Life Support- American Heart Association (BLS)Healthcare Provider or HealthStream Heart Code) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer) via current card prior to employment. Maintains current certification in BLS. Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 6 months of hire and renews. Mandatory Reporting requirement every 5 years. Has or must obtain ACLS and NRP within 6 months, and PALS within 12 months of hire. Experience with computer software and willingness to learn new software (Excel, Microsoft, Healthland, Powerchart, etc.) Ability to work flexible hours and participates in OB on-call schedule. Completes basic fetal monitoring class/education within 6 months of hire. Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred or willing to pursue and successfully complete Fetal Monitoring Certification.
