Organizational Unit Michaels / Artistree / Artistree Warehouse Location * KERNERSVILLE, US 27284 * KERNERSVILLE, NC, US 27284 Job Level Category Artistree Job Description Basic Function Under the direction of the Artistree Human Resources Manager, provides generalist support to the facility in all areas of Human Resources. Provides support for associate relations function in ensuring effective programs for all associates. Interprets and advises all levels of associates on company policies and procedures and benefits programs. Back up to Human Resources Manager. Primary Job Responsibilities 1. Employee Relations -Provides counsel and expertise to leadership team. Conducts investigations and assists in resolving associate relations issues in a fair and equitable manner. Serves as a sounding board for associate concerns, issues and questions. 2. Associate Engagement- Assists with preparation and administration of annual Associate Surveys. Participates in an Activities Committee with associates to plan building events throughout the year. Prepares for and participates in monthly plant meetings. Walks the plant floor to engage with associates. Supports and participates in organizing associate safety and recognition events. 3. Benefits Administration- Ensures associate understanding of company benefit programs by regularly generating communication and counseling as situations arise. Resolves associate complaints related to health and welfare plans; assists with the preparation and administration of the Benefit Open Enrollment process. Conducts benefit orientation meetings. Manages Leave Of Absence process with third party vendor. Manages Unemployment process and attends hearings. 4. Compensation- Supports Hourly Focal and Midyear Performance Appraisal and Merit Increase process. Conducts a local wage survey annually. 5. Training and Development- Facilitates training sessions with exempt and non-exempt level associates. Provides guidance and coaching on the Individual Development Plan process. 6. Safety and Workers' Compensation- Administers drug testing program. Issues Safety equipment. Prepares monthly safety meeting materials. Manages process between Associates, Providers and Risk Management. Forwards necessary paperwork to risk management, conducts regular documented updates with associate, and coordinates return to work conversations with leadership team. 7. Auditing- Conducts weekly audits on infractions generated in the Workbrain Time Keeping System. Conducts bi-weekly audits on LOA time used reports. Updates and / or audits the agency job costing reports and hours reports. 8. Recruiting / Hiring / Orientation- Recruit for all hourly positions within the facility using a variety of recruiting sources. Manage the pre and post recruiting processes including prescreening of applicants, administration of background checks, processing E-Verify, and conducting orientation. Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of leadership as well as associates. Must relate well with others and exhibit professionalism to maintain constructive working relationships. · Work-brain, Oracle, HRSmart, E-Verify experience desired. Knowledgeable in all aspects of training and HR benefits administration. · Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint. HRCI Certification preferred. Preferred Qualification · Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field or 5 years of human resources generalist and/or employee/labor relations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
