Incumbent works assigned shift under the direction of Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor or under the direction of the Registered Nurse designated as shift supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS: Florida licensure as Practical Nurse, license must be faxed to People First, Attention Data Entry, @ 1-888-403-2110. Incumbent will, in part: Administer and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients, ensuring quality care; Administer chart medications as ordered by physician; Assist physician with examinations, treatments, special tests and procedures as defined within the scope of practice; Obtain, carry-out and follow physician orders; Assist unit personnel in interpreting routine clinical situations and in executing difficult assignments; Answer call lights, assist patients with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living; Assist with rehabilitation of patients in accordance with medical care plan; Participate in team conferences and shift reports; Assist in assessing, admitting, discharging, and transferring patients; Responsible for documentation of patient condition, record in the clinical record, and report all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in patient condition; Complete all documentation as required by local, state, and federal guidelines; Orient newly admitted residents to unit; When assigned by Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor or Registered Nurse, manage nursing unit to include work assignments and breaks; Ensure adequate staffing and direct activities of CNAs; Perform other duties as assigned.

Incumbent must have the ability to work under stressful and emergency situations; Understand principles of growth and development for entire life span with ability to provide care appropriate for adult and geriatric patients as appropriate to patient population; Be CPR certified.
