OCCUPATION PROFILE JOB FAMILY: HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS OCCUPATIONAL GROUP: DIAGNOSING AND TREATMENT PRACTITIONERS, HEALTH Working Title: Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor Annual Salary: $45,170.27 Facility: Hillsborough County Health Department - Tampa, Florida JOB DESCRIPTION This advertisement is for a Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor Position. The incumbent supervises professional and support employees providing WIC and nutrition services at assigned clinics, implements the Nutrition Education component of the WIC Program, provides direct services and receives direction and supervision from the Senior Human Services Program Manager. Must maintain a valid and current Florida License to practice dietetics, which must be displayed at the work site and a copy kept on file at the main office. As a supervisor, trains, motivates, evaluates, and monitors daily work activities of Senior Health Educator, Nutrition Educators and Health Support Technician. Meets with team members once per month and documents meeting with minutes and agenda that is provided to the Sr. Human Services Program Manager. Completes a monthly Performance Evaluation Reports on probationary staff. Completes midyear and annual Performance Evaluation Form’s on all career service staff. Performs a monthly audit of 6 to 10 WIC records using the appropriate Quality Assurance tool. Reviews and analyzes worker productivity and performance on monthly and quarterly basis. Manages clinic caseload and participation to meet State Guidelines. Screens employment applications, interviews, secures reference checks, and executes hiring. Provides WIC nutrition assessments and counseling to clients on normal and therapeutic diets. Provides breastfeeding education and support to WIC clients as needed. Provides 2ndnutrition education contacts for all clients in the family record and high risk/medical. Completes WIC certifications. Provides individual and group education sessions for clients and others as needed. (SOAP notes, nutrition questionnaire assessments, goal setting). Makes referrals to other community programs as needed. Orders, monitors and completes the end of the month inventory report pertaining to the direct distribution formula. Submits reports such as travel, People First and HMS within the timeframe assigned. Reviews and approves travel and timesheets for direct reports. Conducts and/or attends health related meetings, staff meetings, committees, and work groups. Assists with outreach activities, health fairs and other community activities as needed. Responsible for providing general nutrition services as assigned. Develops, updates, evaluates, and coordinates with the Senior Human Services Program Manager the Nutrition Education plan for WIC participants. Prepares materials and reports pertaining to Nutrition Education as requested by Federal and State auditors. Assists in completing the Local Agency Operational Report. Screens audio visual and Nutrition Education materials for review and use by staff. Reviews annual Q/A team audit results and completes corrective action plan addressing all clinic deficiencies. Monitors clinic key process indicators and corrective action steps to ensure goals of clinic and nutrition division are being met.
